Those Lying UFO Witnesses

There is no doubt that the debate is back on. UFO researchers putting books out claiming there is no smoking gun because the government is not holding back secrets. They will probably have some data that will back up their contentions but they are still wrong. Why? Because they were not there, and we have military and government witnesses who were there.

Well, who should we believe? Some UFO researchers who go through government documents that have been sanitized for decades? Or, the hundreds of military witnesses that had a great deal to lose both professionally, and personally, by stepping publically into the UFO circus?

I think we can all agree that if the government has covered-up information on the UFO enigma they would have a good motive to lie about that knowledge. On the other hand, I think we can agree the least likely group to gain from coming in forward are the military officers who put their reputation on the line to report the impossible.
Here’s a question: If the government has nothing to hide where is the video and photo evidence, reported by extremely credible witnesses, which has disappeared into the government ether?

Did Astronaut Gordon Cooper lie when he claimed a flying saucer was filmed by the military landing and taking off from a lake bed? Where, if the military and the government have nothing to hide, is the video and testimony of the military witnesses to this event? If this didn’t happen then Gordon Cooper is a bold face liar. You never hear any brave UFO researchers or debunker call Cooper’s integrity into question.

How about this one:

Professor Robert Jacobs came forward and claimed the government had video evidence of a missile shoot-down by a flying disk. That evidence was sent to headquarters and never heard from again. Where is the video? You don’t call people on the carpet and swear them to secrecy for chafe as some skeptics claim. Jacobs never sought the limelight, never tried to make money by riding a book and didn’t go on the lecture tours at the UFO conferences. Jacob’s actions, both before and after he went public, demonstrate a man of high integrity and moral character.

From the days of the famous Newhouse UFO claims have been made of missing evidence. Newhouse, a military photographer, sent his famous film of a group of UFOs to be inspected by the military. When Newhouse asked to get his film back, the military claimed the original was lost in a fire so they sent him a poor copy. The interesting part of this is the film was not complete. Newhouse reported to Dr. McDonald that the first part of the film, where the UFO disk were closest and easiest to indentify was no longer there. Newhouse claimed that that part of the film would have proven what they filmed could have not been birds.

Major Keyhole, head of the first civilian UFO investigative organization, claimed jet fighters pilots had told him that gun cameras had filmed flying disk while the jets were in pursuit. Where is the smoking gun camera evidence? There are hundreds of stories like these.

What happened to the documentation around the famous shutdown of the missile solos? Yes, we have some of the initial findings proving that it happened, but the conclusion of those findings, including what caused the shutdown, was suppose to be forthcoming in a report. Where is that report?

I have not even brought in the 600 plus Roswell witnesses because as you know they don’t even count with John Alexander and Nick Pope and other UFO researchers.

Even if you don’t believe UFOs are ETs and are government black projects there is still evidence of kept secrets. The famous Cash Landrum UFO sighting is a prime example of that. A mother, her older daughter and her son are driving home late. They came upon a diamond shaped craft hovering over the highway. The object seems like it’s in trouble. The mother gets out of the car and finds that this object is generating tremendous heat; she burns her hand on the metal of the car. She jumps back in the car and they watch as this object moves slowly away followed by more than 20 Chinook helicopters.

The all got sick; the mother the worst. Her hair fell out, she was vomiting and she was in bed for weeks. The doctor diagnosed her condition as radiation sickness. Wel,l everyone knows when you start to get collaborated evidence on a UFO, the debunkers came out of the woodwork. They basically called this a hoax and pointed to the absence of any documentation showing that there was a large contingence of Chinook Helicopters parked at any nearby airbase. Update this to 2005 when “UFO hunters” did an episode on this case with the doctor and the surviving family (the mother died of cancer). They even had the talking head who repeated the claims of the debunkers “no helicopters, people”. This time, however, there was an answer (which was hardly talked about in the UFO community, I guess many were too busy putting down the show). You see they found documentation that there was indeed a large group of Chinook Helicopters that took off at the nearest airbase. When the debunker was presented with this evidence on the air he was dumbfounded and admitted it looked like he was wrong.

So where is the documentation around this incident? People don’t fake radiation sickness. On the program they interviewed the son who was now grown up. His anger over any suggestion they hoaxed this just disgusted him. Something happened that night and we all know it. But what really happened has never come to life.

Just recently, with the UK’s newest release, there has been a contention that many documents pertaining to the famous Rendlesham UFO case, the one where a UFO triangle was actually touched, were missing. The Roswell case along with many of other cases also had missing documents.

So once again these writers and spokesman inside the UFO community disparage the names and the integrity of our most credible UFO witnesses. This is par for the course isn’t it? Many UFO researchers who decide to write new books have no compunction in ignoring some of our most trusted witnesses to make their point and a buck. That is sad to me because, without those witnesses we have no real body of substanciated evidence for the reality of the UFO phenomenon.

So go head UFO researchers, call them liars without really calling them liars, isn’t that how it’s done ?

  1. What are your thoughts on the Emma Woods/David Jacob flamewar with Bud Hopkins getting pulled into it by his ex?

  2. Dear Nathan,
I believe at times hypnosis is a useful tool in Abduction as long as it done the right way. John Mack felt Budd Hopkins session were professional enough for Dr. Mack to look further into the abduction phenomenon The quality of those sessions and the sensitivity in not leading patients was duly noted. I honestly didn't here her radio interview or the particulars of the Emma Woods case.
I found David Jacobs to be very nice guy to talk and very dedicated. I know one thing, they both told me few people who came to them met their criteria of external evidence to warrant more examination.
Today we have millions of people claiming they are abducted. I think more than anything else that exaggeration hurts the future serious investagation this phenomenon needs.

  3. Thanks Joseph. Very well put.

    Ahhh...UFOs...

Its ok to trash the subject's particopants and ignore the evidence completely as long as it "proves" that they don't exist and every witness, no matter how stellar, is lying.

I must say though, it would be reasonable for someone to assume the alien abduction stories, unchecked, are complete nonsense!

That level of strangness just will not compute.

But at the same time, any "student" of the UFO subject can see for themselves how, over time, there was a logical evolution from people reporting sightings, then sightings and missing time, and then sightings, some times no sighting but with missing time...etc., and then abductions explaining the missing time. It, unfortunately, made some degree of sense.

  4. Dear Bob,
Thank again. I know that the government must have some of this evidence reported by the great credible military witnesses that were there. I stand by my statement either the government does have secrets about UFOs or these witnesses are lying. I don't believe that for one minute.
    Thanks

  5. This is a very sensible article. As the author notes, there are countless instances of hard evidence (photos, samples) of UFO encounters that were handed in to the authorities by witnesses and never returned. Now that "openness" is the new official policy, where is that evidence? It seems to me that "openness" is not very open - it involves release of sighting reports (which can easily be debunked) and concealment of real evidence. This means that officialdom is worried, and that some very secret research is going on using the hard evidential material contributed by honest, trusting citizens.

  6. Dear Anonymous,
I agree fully. Something is wrong. Why would people like Cooper and Jacobs and all the others risk ridicule and loss of respect to promote a lie? Where is the payoff?

The government needed at one time to hide this knowledge but now that is changed the Soviets are not a threat and the skies are still full of UFOs. Time for truth.
    Thanks

  9. Dear Cris,
My title is sarcastic. It directed at UFO researchers with an agenda which states that the government has no UFO smoking gun secrets. If they have video of a flying saucer landing an a flying disk shooting down an missile than they do have a smoking gun. You see Pope and Alexander won't call Jacobs and Cooper liars. They just pretend they aren't there.
    Thanks Cris.

  10. Dear Emperor,
If you think about this and the motives behind someone like Astronaut "Cordy" Cooper. Why in Gods name would he tarnish his rep as the "Right Stuff" to claim a flying saucer not only landed but was filmed. He is a man who won the medal of honor and has more to loose than Alex and Pope put together. Both of those guys were nothing more than bureaucrats.
Pope has the ego of Elvis. He claims that if there was a smoking gun he would know about it. Yea a minor researcher in a bureaucratically set up military research effort, (which they lied about) knows everything the UK military about UFOs. I don't buy it.
    Thanks

  11. I think, in general, your attempt at creating a dialogue about UFOs is noteworthy, but it would really help your credibility if you were a little more careful with your facts and people's names. With this kind of subject that's prone to attacks, it's utmost to get your facts straight. Examples: in your piece "Those Lying UFO Witnesses," you show a picture of UFO author Nick Pope, yet you don't identify him, so anyone seeing his picture and who doesn't know what he looks like, won't have a clue as to whose picture that is. Next, you mention Gordon Cooper's claim of a UFO filmed at a "lake bed." It would give the story more credibility to include the fact that it took place on the dry lake bed at Edwards Air Force Base. You also say that we never hear any brave UFO researchers or debunkers call Cooper's integrity into question. That's not true. Over the years, several skeptics/debunkers have done exactly that. Then you refer to a Dr. McDonald. With no further identifying factor of him, including a first name, how are readers to know who you're talking about? Same thing about a Major Keyhole. Why don't you use his first name? And, by the way, his last name was Keyhoe. Then you mention both John Alexander and Nick Pope, without any further references as to who these gentlemen are. You can't assume all of your readers are going to know that information. Again, for total credibility of what you're trying to achieve, you really need to clean things up and also try to fix the numerous grammatical typos that appear in your pieces. Credibility, credibility, please.

  13. Joseph, thank you for posting my comments yesterday (or as others might have referred to it as nitpicking), and thank you also for your response. I actually think you're doing a good service by trying to engage people in an honest dialogue about UFOs. I would just hate to see you come under more fire from others out there who might feel as though you're not being as careful with certain facts, names, places, etc. It's not that I'm trying to keep you honest -- I just really want you to succeed in being a strong voice or advocate for people who need to feel comfortable in opening up about their experiences with something they can't easily explain in their lives. Keep up the good work...we actually need more people like you!

  15. there is a deeply spiritual nature to alien interactions. While people like to call them abductions they are not, how can you be abducted when it is something you have agreed to do, it involves your own people from previous lives and that all those who have these interactions are incarnated aliens. Some of the better books out there on the topic are Dolores Cannon's books, or if you can find it Alien Within by Richard Allen.

The problem with UFO researchers is they focus too much on physical and ignore the spiritual nature of these beings.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dear Anonymous,
I don't think anyone can claim they know these aliens are spiritually superior to us. If anyone else was doing this it would be labeled abduction. Some people like to call themselves "experiencers" and of course they may.
But because a person starts to experience piece and love around these beings does not mean what you are experiencing is good. If I gave you a shot of heroin you'd feel great but it would not be a good thing.
I use to deal with people who were in cults. They would swear up and down how spiritual the group was.
But they would not entertain any difference of opinion and that is to me a close mind and not healthy.
Many experiencers are the same way. The will not even consider that these beings may be fooling them to get what they want out of a complaint captive.
The world is in a mess and as far as I see the ETs have done nothing to change that.
We would like them to be the new savior but they seem to have been here a long time and we are in a worst mess then we were ever in. So no matter how "spiritual" they are it seems to mean nothing as far as helping us.
Of course I may be wrong but I don't see any real evidence. I am very respectful of the power these being seem to have over our consciousness.
    Thanks You

  17. Thank you for doing what you do. I've been experiencing bizarre things all of my life, and UFOs are just a part of it. I also suspect that I'm an abductee. I have several cases of missing time, strange markings on my body, loads of videos of these crafts outside of my home, and fuzzy memories that have been coming back to me from my childhood and upward of aliens and abduction.
The thing that frustrates me about skeptics are that they think this is something we're saying just to get attention. I don't need nor want this kind of attention and criticism. I have enough stress in my daily life.
I'm a college student. I love my family. I intend to get married and maybe pop out a few kids someday. I'm a NORMAL person (well, as normal as anyone can be that's gone through some incredible and terrifying experiences that no one can understand).
Debunkers and shills can spin it any way they want, but we can't all be liars.

  21. I whitnessed a very strange ufo back in oct. 2010 in fort smith arkansas and i made a report to mufon. The repor was dated around oct. 18 i think. this object looked like flowing metal or water that was silver in color. It transformed its self into a missle shaped object in the blink of an eye already in motion heading west. I live near ft. chaffee in arkansas and over the next 2 months I had 20 sightings all at dusk low flying with no noise. These were not american aircraft. One of the last sightings was a fly over of my house. I back up to hundreds of acres of pasture this object was heading west as i was looking east, anyway all of the sudden i hear a helocopter noise behind me and i turn and see a large spot lite from the front of this craft, I lift up my binoculars and see what looks like a fly eye with many lites creating a single beam of lite. After futher consideration I belive fort chaffee is involved in some kind to secret of the government. will someone please investigate this. I belive this to be very importent.

  22. Nice blogpiece Joseph.

Me too, I also do not like the fact that Nick 'the' Pope and Colonel John 'convincing hotdogger' Alexander purports that if the Government knew anything, THEY would know about it. It's very pompous to claim that. And stupid. They couldn't possibly know much about where the best data repositories nowadays are stored and what they contain on the UFO subject. If Col Alexander and company would find out 'the secrets' after 40 years of deliberate purging of sensitive material and compartmentalization within the government and private military complex, that would truly be considered lucky similar to winning the lotto.

Anyone is very unlikely to find anything regarding the UFO subject that is sensitive without need to know. Much of the good stuff was moved outside of official reach from the very early on. The Roswell history and the high brass involved can attest to that. Even they didn't know where the material went. Where do all the best film and photos end up that is sent to specific military branches? It's like they just disappear. That is frightening and points to that there are hidden power structures within the military ranks that operate for their own profit without any official oversight. This whole subject has 'gone black' since a long time ago.

For Pope and Alexander to claim that absence of evidence is evidence of absence is just dumb in this case.

    All the best,
    Daniel Bergh, Sweden.
