UFOs: Sound Of A Different Drummer

If you take a look at the evolution of UFO investigation techniques you’ll find rather quickly there hasn’t been any. All UFO investigations still start out with an agency or organization receiving a UFO report, or, a major UFO report is broadcast by the media. The organization then sends out investigators who try to gather evidence and take down all the pertinent data. One reason I think this technique of investigation has been repeated over and over again lay in the assumption UFOs were impossible to actively pursue and video because they were so random. Even when a UFO flap was in full swing, you never read where a UFO team is sent out to try and catch the phenomenon with their own equipment.

A great example is the Stephenville, Texas case. In this small Texas rodeo town, reports began fluding in concerning all kinds of UFO lights and craft. Remember, every time there is a flap many UFO witnesses never report what they experience. Any good investigator knows most of the people who see UFOs do not report them, for obvious reasons. When all was said and done, the startling count of UFO reports topped around three hundred. If you were to include those who had not reported their UFO sighting, you could easily triple that number. These reports were all investigated after the fact, no active real time UFO pursuit was initiated.

What is more startling is UFOs are still being reported even today in that area:

These are National Geographic clips. What I believe is proof of UFO:

What would have happened if someone like MUFON had sent investigative teams into these UFO flap areas to camp out for a while and try and catch one of the objects with the right equipment? Would they have had any chance inhell of finding a UFO? What MUFON did in this case was tried and true and needed to be done. I believe, however, if a team had been sent down there to specifically try and catch one of these UFOs, they might have corroborated all those witnesses in real time with proof. Luckily, MUFON was able to acquire the FAA radar tapes in this instance to prove the witnesses were right.

UFO organizations, in the early days believed that investigation of UFO crafts should be done in the peripheral position, not straight on. The UFO event, they reasoned, is random, therefore catching and filming one would be almost impossible. First ignored by the major UFO organizations , reports started coming in that seemed to shatter this concept of complete randomness by UFOs. Those reports were of repeated “Human Abductions”.

Randomness was challenged again when reports came in indicating certain UFOs targeted animals again and again, in certain areas, and mutilated them. Then there were these remote area on ranches that were visited by UFOs and strange creatures again and again .Now, we have many reports indicating specific areas where UFOs may be continuingly displaying. Reports and video have been received about people who seem to attract UFOs. Even stranger, UFOs seemed to be displaying for these people who catch them on video and who believe they may be in mental communication with the occupants.

There could be other explanations for these personal experiences; a type of UFO corridor where UFOs constantly travel… but we will never know because no one’s investigating these reports.

The other video clips below are from Jeff Willes’ video collection for UFO Finders (ufofinders.com). He has been filming UFOs for years. Do certain people attract UFOS? One person felt what Jeff was doing could be significant and went and saw for himself.

  1. Your premise that UFOs appear repeatedly and reliably for certain observers is absolutely correct, although I would suggest that this may have less to do with the witnesses than with the locale in which they find themselves.

I also feel that MUFON too often fumbles the ball appallingly in follow-up of cases reported to them.

Comment here can only be brief. May I email you my thoughts in greater detail?

  2. Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for the comment. By the way I put up the wrong video. The first video is of an "active" by National Geographic on the light anomalies around the world. Take a look it is very interesting. I am afraid MUFON is not going to change they follow.. they don't lead. I think you are right as far as locale. However there are witnesses like this who claim they get compulsions to go outside a film. This needs investigation by the right people.
    Thanks

  3. Yes, thanks, I happened to see that National Geo special. These objects are being witnessed throughout the US, and I don't think MUFON has the manpower, equipment, or expertise to deal with the phenomena.

These UFOs have a fantastic ability to manipulate electromagnetic effects; i.e., light, sound, and the appearance of matter. It may be that observers sense an EM effect rather than a paranormal "calling."

Mr. Capp, who are the "right people," and how can one contact them to request help in studying (or simply filming) orbs that are reliably present, aloft or near the ground, day or night if the weather is decent, in certain areas of the US?

  4. Dear Anonymous,
They do have the resources MUFON assembled the new "Star Teams" financed by Robert Bigelow. MUFON did have a investigation of the Marley lights. There may come a day when a fully equipped, ghost hunter type vans or campers, will be traveling the country investigating types of UFO cases. They may bring their bedroom and lab with them. There are still people out there who think differently and want a challenge, like no other challenge. solving the most mysterious phenomenon around, UFOs.
We have traveled 60 years investigating these objects without one definitive answer, we need to do something different.
    Thanks

  5. When MUFON fails to conduct even a rudimentary examination of a case, that case will never come to the attention of the Star Team.

Someone does need to do something different.

Who and where are the people with out-of-the-box thinking who are capable right now of meeting the UFO challenge? Can they only be found within the popular media?

  6. Dear Anonymous,
The problem with the media is they never follow through. Some will some day have the money and do it right maybe some who is capable of understanding the importance of what is happening and willing to prove it is real. I know if I had enough money I could put a team together.
    Thanks

  8. Well, then, let's hope you suddenly fall heir to an unexpected fortune!

I do hope you won't have to wait until next year's UFO conference to utilize that slick-looking night vision apparatus you and your friends assembled. If you live on the eastern seaboard, you may need only to keep looking up to find something worth documenting. Sightings seem to be on the increase in that neck of the woods, with an emphasis on areas near woods.

  9. Dear Anonymous,
I have the scope now and we are thinking of planning a trip up to Pine Bush. Also we have something else in the works but right now, until we see how it goes I will wait to write about. The New York has been less than impressive when it comes to UFOs. I and MUFON have a meeting in New York City. We both friends and there is no competition, which is good. We even go to each others meetings. There are people that come in and talk about there sightings. I hope to attack more. I have tried to interest some of our younger members to get involved to set up an investigating team to look at reports, especially any cases that includes multiple UFO sightings.
    Thanks

  10. Is your own group a formal organization that outside witnesses can join, or more informal, i.e., a group consisting of your own like-minded friends?

So many people have become disillusioned with MUFON, it might not be hard to increase your group's membership, if that's what you'd like to do.

Glad to hear you plan to visit the Pine Bush area, and will read here to stay abreast of other activity. Good hunting!

  11. this post was mentioned at the Examiner...

I also made this comment there:
There are two things we have now that amateur or professional investigators didn't have not too long ago: The mobil internet and cheap cameras. A lot of people carry smart phones. If more sightings can be recorded from multiple witnesses, I feel eventually public perception of UFO's would turn around and then maybe finally, we can get enough people to put pressure on the government to either investigate and/or tell us what they know. The amateur and pro investigators need to band together. When someone sees something unusual in the sky, they need to grab that iphone or blackberry and communicate (via tweets maybe?) their siting to everyone in the local area. With our current technology, I see no reason why we cant have multiple cameras trained on a spot within a few minutes. Especially in larger metropolitan areas like hmmmm, let's say, Phoenix.

  12. An excellent post Joe. I recall reading something by Jacques Vallee, written a long time ago now, where he basically says that the days of collecting reports from witnesses and putting them into a database is no longer adequate, that you can only learn so much from such an approach. And yet, when it's done at all, this is still happening as the norm. As if it were still 1952 and Don Keyhoe was still walking the halls of the Pentagon.

You are definitely on a roll here. Good luck!

    Thanks
Were just a grass roots UFO group. "NY UFO Meeting Group". We have people who would like to dd more then meet. I am one but I am to old to most of what needs to be done. We couldn't handle a flap but if someone was having ongoing UFO sightings we may be able to just validate what is happening.
    Thanks again

  14. "Reports and video have been received about people who seem to attract UFOs. Even stranger, UFOs seemed to be displaying for these people who catch them on video and who believe they may be in mental communication with the occupants."

The sort of people who in earlier ages might've been identified by their various cultures as shamans, priests, prophets, or candidates for training as such?

Almost as if some UFOs're as dependent on such individuals as 'spirits' are dependent on mediums?

Almost as if whatever these things are they manifest in forms consistent with the culture context of their witnesses?

p.s. Joe, your pic bears a remarkable resemblance to the Stones' Keith Richard wondering whether starting jogging to get healthy was a good idea or not!

  15. Hi, Joe.

    Nice blog.

I live in Denton County, Texas - about 100 miles NE of Stephenville - and have been researching UFO phenomena for almost two years.

I can say with absolute certainty, based on frequent and ongoing personal observations, that UFOs - by which I mean alien and/or transdimensional vehicles not of earth-military origin - are a regular presence where I live.

When I am engaged in the phenomenon and the weather is pleasant, I have unambiguous sightings so frequently I don't even like to say. I've been called out of my house telepathically a number of times to see craft flying over my house the instant I stepped outside and looked up.

These things are just the tip of the iceberg.

I'll save my MUFON criticism for another time, but you make some excellent points about the lack of vigor and reactive nature of UFO investigation.

  16. Dear Kevin,

I agree one hundred percent. Also getting the names of anyone near you who have witnessed the object with you is very important also.

    Thanks Kevin

MUFON is always a brides made never a bride. We have new instruments like vision we have small digital cameras. We have the internet it's a new world out there the time to adjust and evolve is now.

  18. Dear booky,
Are you talking about my picture or the picture of the ET I put in the article. If it's me your are right many people think that. I am very thin because I had Tonsil cancer and my throat is not in the greatest of shape. Keith will outlive all of us.
There is something here beyond the scope of just metaphysical interpretation. Although some UFOs may indeed be metaphysical phenomenon. The ones that were monitoring every defense system we had speaks volumes for strategic thinking by these objects. So we would be naive if we thought some superior intelligence who wishes to remain hidden couldn't use all kinds of camouflage to stay in our minds a confusing phenomenon.
    Your comments rock.

  19. Dear Arvin Hill,
You statement proves that we are missing a great resource for UFO information. We all have to admit even MUFON that we have not figured out what is going on. Are they conditioning people to their presence. Is this and invitation to video them in a certain area leading to more and more contact. None of us knows because no one is investigating... This reminded me of the first abduction reports and how they were not believed by many UFO researchers in the UFO community because of the same assumptions that are being made now.
Thanks and I hope some UFO investigator near you is reading this and follows up on your experience.
Thank You so much for sharing that.

  20. Joe, thanks for your thoughtful response.

Although you ask the question about conditioning rhetorically, I'm nonetheless compelled to answer in the affirmative.

Until recently, I thought of myself as having initiated contact, but it's just as possible I was reciprocating in a way that made it seem like I was the initiating party. Either way, my openness to contact has been the primary catalyst behind the frequency and nature of my sighting experiences. And, I have to say, the intelligence at the other end of that contact has, for me, been amazingly graceful and accommodating with its careful choreography of progressively stranger sightings and other events.

On April 10, 2009, shortly after 9pm, from my front porch, I captured two striking images - sixteen seconds apart at 800 and 1600 ISO; using a horrible little Sony Cybershot with tripod - of UFO formations. They were taken during a 'missing time' experience. Despite manually changing ISO settings, I had zero recollection of taking the photos, but because I know what transpired immediately before the event, I'm certain I was the photographer. The formations look dynamic, but there is no trailing despite the high ISO settings.

That's the highly condensed version, but, rest assured, the details only make it more compelling, not so less so.

That was almost a year ago - about a year into my UFO research - and the whole experience felt very much like a gift. It still does.

Context is vital to understanding UFO photographs, so once I've documented the event as thoroughly as possible, I will release them (and some other ones) into the public domain. I've taken my sweet time, in part, because telling one chapter of a complex story is very challenging.

My objective has always been confined to achieving greater personal understanding of UFO phenomena. I have zero interest in proof and even less in celebrity, but I do have a fairly strong compulsion to detail my experiences and make them available to curious minds.

Today, though, beneath an electric blue sky, The Mundane beckons. Roses and strawberries to plant. Patio furniture to assemble. Lawn mower battery to replace. Providing I don't think about it too much, all is right with the world.
