UFOs:” In The Heat of the Night”

Night Vision Scopes

Is there any proof that many different ET species are prowling the earth? Well, maybe not smoking gun evidence, but evidence enough to make most people scratch their heads in amazement.. It's been said to watch the skies. I say: "Watch the night skies, keep watching the night skies." (The Thing)

There are objects in the night sky that cannot be explained by any known source. These UFO objects, according to the best expert on spotting them, are best viewed within the first two hours of complete darkness after sunset. If these objects, the expert reasoned, are flying at night visibly cloaked, they should still give off heat signatures. They do.

Before the 2009 International UFO Congress, if someone had told me you could see UFOs with special night vision scopes I would have said they were dreaming. As the date of the 2009 International UFO congress was approaching, a friend of mine called me and mentioned some person named Ed Grimsley who would be doing some UFO spotting with night vision goggles each night of the Congress. I asked him how much it would cost to go out with Ed and he said he didn't know. According to Ed Grimsley, my friend said, "you can see UFOs anywhere". I thought in my head… yeah, sure.

This was a special conference for me because one of my contacts, and now friend, in the science field was coming to his first UFO conference. We were having an absolute blast at the conference and we booked our night to go out UFO spotting with Ed. The price was more than fair: it was free. My friend could only attend the weekend, so we booked with Ed for the night my friend flew in. I felt, in my own arrogance, that going in to this spotting adventure, I would be able to easily explain what they were seeing (having been an avid amateur astronom

er when I was a young man). That night we assembled and were escorted outside of the hotel as cars pulled up and people filed in. This was all volunteer cars, gas and everything. There were 24 people in the group and they drove us to a local parking spot on the outskirts of Laughlin, which wasn't very far if you know Laughlin.

At first Ed was sitting on a little chair and when we all arrived he lectured us on the proper use of the scopes and the laser lights. He mentioned how some scopes had been stolen from him in the past, and, for that reason, when he shouted, "raise the scopes," we must raise them above out heads so they could be counted. He told us small groups would be formed and each group would be led by one of his friends with a scope. When something was spotted the person in the group who saw the object should use the laser to point the object out so the other groups could follow the objects with scopes. Remember, you can't see these objects with your eyes.

As we formed the groups what struck me was the utter darkness once we turned all light sources off. Remember I live in Brooklyn, NY and we don't get darkness like that. First thing spotted was a plane. We already knew not to laser unless sure. For a while there was nothing and people just passed the scopes around checking them out and looking around. But then my friend, Gary, an old timer to this conference, shouted, "Look," as he pointed at something I couldn't see with my eyes. As the groups followed his laser you could hear the groups shouting. Eventually I saw through the scope what everyone was pointing at… a pencil shaped object standing still. The object had been moving but then it suddenly stopped. As I watched the object it started moving really fast again, I could not believe it. Unfortunately, then I had to pass the scope. About ten minutes later, three oblong objects appeared. They traveled in unison and much too fast to be a satellite. Although Ed felt these objects were two hundred miles up, the truth was, you could not really tell. The objects seemed to be changing direction, not orbiting in a straight line. Then we witnessed 6 objects which to me seemed more round in appearance. They also traveled in complete unison and when they stopped, you could hear the whole group gasp. It shocked the hell out of me, to tell you the truth. We saw other objects traveling in groups of two or more and some that were alone. None of them resembled anything I have ever witnessed in the sky. None of these objects could be seen with the naked eye. Ed told us only the new generation three night vision goggles could detect them. Each one of the goggles cost $3,700.00.

However, the night was not over yet. As we were watching an object rose from the horizon in the opposite direction from where we had been spotting these objects. This object was different because you could see it with your eyes. It was egg shaped and seem to hover in place. We all flashed it with our lasers and as that happened, it flashed very brightly at us. Everyone shouted in amazement. I took the scope to see if I could tell where the lights was coming from. It seemed as the light diminished it was coming from the top of the object. As the object rose higher into the sky it disappeared from our eyes, but I could still see it on my scope. It changed directions for a while, but then as I watched it the object,t started to turn back toward the direction it had previously traveled…it then disappeared.

We had to leave then, but not without having to wait for five minutes so they could find a "missing" scope. It was obvious the person was trying to walk with it but he eventually gave it up. Not everyone in the UFO community is honest.

My friend was in shock. Not only did he go to his first UFO conference, but he had six separate UFO sightings. At the end we had no proof because no one was videoing these objects. Some in the group had grasped at straws for explanations and thought they may be birds migrating. However, checking with a wildlife expert the next day dissolved any possibility what we saw was birds: "Too late in the season for migration and they don't fly at night", was his answer. I knew they weren't birds.

My friends and I started to think how we could get our hands on one of these scopes and maybe a camcorder attachment. All of us believed the stock market was about to crash. I had been warning my friends for months. We didn't want to put that type of money out not knowing what would be happening. The next day Ed recalled tales of seeing these objects shoot other objects with a beam of light and watching them burn up in the atmosphere. After seeing what I saw that night I could hardly call the man a liar. In fact one of the groups saw an object direct a beam at another object which disappeared into the atmosphere. Here we had before us the whole shebang, different types of craft, suggesting many different entities and the very real possibility some species of ETs were at wars (possibly protecting us?). This needed to be documented and my friends and I decided we would somehow try. We all left the conference believing the best ways to investigation the UFO phenomenon actively was with night vision and we were going to prove this by videoing what we saw. What happened next is a lesson in life itself. Next week I will describe the journey we had buying a scope and the kind scientist who built a one of a kind adapter for us.

  2. Joe, this really intrigues me. I live in Stamford Ct. Which is about an hour drive from you. I want this night vision scope. I don't know about you but I don't have $3700 spare change lying around. I've got an idea. What's the chance you can get 35 other local UFO enthusiasts in the New York area to shell out $100 for you to get this scope? In return, you promise to take small groups of investors out UFO scouting occasionally. We may even recoup money spent by charging non-investors a small fee for tagging along every so often. I would easily pay $100 to be able to see something flying in the sky that wasn't explainable. If you think this idea isn't totally nuts, please write to me at my email. (or anyone else who may be interested)

  3. Dear Keven,
When you read the second part you will find we already have a scope with an camcorder adapter built which allows you to see the sky without even looking up. This scope with it's adapter will be in the New York area in the spring and I will be taking people on spotting expedition in my group NY UFO Meeting Group you can find us on meetup.com. The price is going to be steep though its free :)
We are thinking of the Pine Bush area. We are also setting up a phone line for people who may be having multiple sightings in the area to see what we can catch. We tried to start this last year but you will find out we were delayed but our night vision journey will not be stopped.. We hope to be able to hook the scope up to a monitor so we can all can see what is being videoed.
So keep in touch and if you wish to expand on your idea of course fell free. But you have to understand I feel Ed did this to help people understand that some type of advanced craft are flying in our atmosphere. It was given free to me so I want to pass it along that way.
However I have no problem with others doing it another way.
Keep in touch with the group by joining and I will be reporting what happens at the 2010 UFO congress because we are bringing the scope to the same area Ed brought us to last year. Despite what happens there we will continue the investigation.

    Thanks Keven

  6. Joseph, I read your blog with interest and i wish i could afford such a fantastic night vision scope. But what it all remended me most of is the book of Trevor James Constable , 'The Cosmic Puls of Life'. This guy did extensive research with infra red photography in the late 50ties. The book has many pictures of what he discovered, living and non-living critters in our atmosphere, invisible with normal vision. If you don't know the book, check it out!

  7. It would be interesting to mount the IR scope in tandem with a sensitive visible light camera, and see whether the IR objects block out stars as they move before them.

  8. Dear Lowes,
Thanks always looking for the next good book. Please don't forget to stop by for part 2 and the journey we take to get the scope up and running in time to go back to the same spot this year during the UFO Congress and what we hope to find.

    Thanks

  12. Excellent story. I'm glag you're experiencing some jawdropping technology on display. Too bad you need $3700 binoculars to do it.

I haven't had the time to read all your blog articles the last couple of months since I've taken a hiatus from most UFO stuff. After 12 years of reading up on Ufology, and the ins and outs of the different research and data, I feel I'm treading water currently. I'm glad Ed Grimsley and some of you are obviously making progress in an otherwise non-progressive (albeit active) subject.

I also feel that the next breakthroughs in Ufology will be made by filming with night-vision binoculars and perhaps also by filming/photographing with advanced telescopes against the moon surface.

The communication aspect (peoples laser beams setting of brightening aircraft lights) was interesting. I've read however many times that people suggest that communication took place. Maybe wishful thinking and coincidence? Or maybe it happened for real? I've noticed it is reported quite often historically (from the 50s onward). I myself believe as aircraft, using other power sources than fossil fuel, goes into different modes and interacts with the atmosphere, probably excess charge is charging photons to luminous excitement, light is bound to brighten and dim involuntarily as a consequence of the operation of the aircraft. An observer can easily mistake that involuntary dimming/brightening light occurrence for communication if in direct relation to people flashing their lasers. There might be two events here that are not related.

It would be interesting if very basic communication could be predicted and established with these aircraft. I've on top of all the disinfo used in Ufology historically but really doubt that military would and could decept UFO researchers if a communication experiment is done right (eliminating chance of external manipulation). Pondering the explanation that all these craft are military aircraft, it's obviously not in standard military practice to communicate with common man during flight missions, so it would be worth looking into. If communication could be established on researchers predictable terms, that would be interesting and basically ruling out human interference while beyond reasonable doubt proving an "new" unestablished intelligence.

I'll keep reading your blog pieces. Thanks and all the best,

  13. Daniel,
Welcome back. I do understand about taking the hiatus sometimes you just need a break. However honestly, I think we desperately need minds like yours in the UFO arena.
We ended up getting a used scope for 900. that will be in the next part. WE will be bringing that scope to the UFO Congress next week so we will see what we get if it is positive will do an update. By the way I never printed this but the object did not display until I waved my hands and thought welcome. When it did display after that I just thought I was it was a coincidence, but the reason I did wave, and try to send a message, was because of all the cases of people doing the same thing and getting reactions. I still don't believe it was because of me it displayed, but I do believe it did display for the group, why you got me there.
    Hope you stick around.

  16. HELLOOOOOOOO.......

hey I'm trying to find out "what type" of night vision goggles to get. And NOT the 3000 dollar type that can't be shipped outside the US. I need something like 300 bucks or less and that can be shipped to Canada?

    WHAT TYPE IS BEST????

    ReplyDelete
  17. The night vision sopes for 300 hundred dollars or less are digital. They can be found on EBAY. Type in Digital Night Vision. Just to let you know the more standard magnification the less field of vision. Gen 3 usually has 70 degree - 40 is acceptable in cheaper scopes.

  18. No one likes to lose money even if it were a cent. Although budget may vary for individuals; some with a high budget and others a small budget; all the same getting value for money spent is still everyone's expectation. When it comes to making purchases of gadgets, it is said that "what you pay is what you get.best binoculars under 100

  19. I'm a newbie but would like to know how to find the best night vision in the market. I plan to surprise my dad who was looking for a new one since his old one has seen better days. From reviews, there are some products that I'm looking into: Night Owl Pro Nexgen, the Bushnell Equinox Z Digital and the EyeClops Infrared Stealth. Quality and brand is important for me and so far, this site has numerous reviews that must be considered: http://opticgearlab.com/night-vision/best-night-vision.html
