UFOs And 2012: It’s the end of the world- again

"And it's a hard rain a gonna fall" Dylan

Well folks, now that the crop circle’s prediction of a “super solar flare” was wrong we still have 2012 to look forward to. This date may even include ETs and UFOs.

Maybe then we can tell the world “see, we were right.”

Are any of you out there as sick as I am over all of the extreme media/internet fear mongering? No matter what threat is in the news, real or vague, whichever doomsday threat comes down the pike these writers will make sure you’re spoon fed the worst consequences possible. In the UFO community and beyond many believe in the idea that ancient humans knew more than modern man about the dangers to our world. Many say the Mayans were taught by ETs and that is why they knew the future. Did the ETs also teach them to cut out a still beating heart as a religious appeasement?

If any of you think I don’t believe in some prophets and their special talents you would be wrong. Let’s use some common sense here. Prophets are usually wrong when it comes to predictions of the end of the world. I found a wonderful link that list hundreds. Do you remember the Nostrodamous prediction that claimed a fire from the sky would cause a major cataclysm? He even predicted the year- 1999. This was heralded as a special prediction since the prophet rarely gave dates on what he foresaw. Nothing happened.

I don’t think the good creator would give the end of the world news to anyone…no one is that special.

Is there a type of justified vengeance we feel if the world gets it’s just desserts? I know I’ve become frustrated by the complicity of silence around me on many subjects. One of the ego boosting futures that would bring me some satisfying vengeance is the ET public contact scenario. I know I would get off on sticking it to the debunkers and certain “skeptics”.
But end of the world is different. All the people that you could get a laugh of f of would be gone. If somehow you do survive, you’d have a life of hardship beyond your imagination.

Yet, I have to admit I love the opening line in Orson Wells’ “War of The Worlds”

“NO one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man’s and yet as mortal as his own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinized and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinize the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water.”

Yes there is some self gratification in those words of human ignorance since I believed, and still, do that I am not one of them.

I remember a real end of the world experience I went through. I was working a job in a hospital when the Cuban missile crisis erupted. The Soviets at the time were banging their sabers hard and it scared the hell out of people. We had already learned in the 50’s just how devastating a nuclear war would be with the Soviet Union where hundreds of million people would be killed. If you did happen to survive, the world would have a poisoned atmosphere and a breakdown in society. I remember getting canned foods and keeping them in the trunk of the car. I also remember mapping out routes to more desolate areas which would not be missile targets. The one thing I did not feel during that time was smugness. When you’re confronted with a real end of the world possibility, fear, not hope, pervades your being.

Some of the most interesting predictions for the end of the world came from the more dogma driven Christian sects. These dire warnings were an effective weapon in gathering people to the flock. People do not act rationally when they are frightened for their lives.

*Guess What Year
“This year goes down as one of the most pronounced states of hysteria over the return of Christ. All members of society seemed affected by the prediction that Jesus was coming back on , ****. There really weren't any of the events required by the Bible transpiring at that time. The magical number **** was primarily the sole reason for the expectation. During **** , everyone was on their best behavior; worldly goods were sold and given to the poor, swarms of pilgrims headed east to meet the Lord at Jerusalem, buildings went unrepaired, crops were left unplanted, and criminals were set free from jails. The year **** turned into **** and nothing happened.”
If we look inside the UFO community we see the same type of dire prediction reported by experiencer from ETs. Contact with ETsis not scary enough now it means the end of the world. Well nice knowing you for that brief second. I believe this is a tactic ETs have used for centuries for all types of control reasons..

I enjoy a good scare and the end times certainly can fulfill that part of me, but it is being used in some very dangerous ways. Like getting people to vote a certain way or attacking any people who disagree.
One deep routed yearning humans have is to go to space. This drive humans have, of moving beyond this planet, is as real as spiritual hunger itself. Isn’t that a sign this same creator wants us to evolve to a place both physically and spiritually so we may move out beyond this planet? How can we do that if the world dies? If there is some type of divine plan why would God waste a world? Why would God punish whole peoples who refuse to be scared into the knowledge of God? I don’t what the future holds as far as the end of the world goes but neither does anyone else, and that is the point. No one has been ever been close to right yet on this one. Yet we will, time and time again, give credence to these prophets of doom.
If anything, UFO ETs subject should give us hope not fear, especially if there is more than one type of Extra-Terrestrial beings visiting us. It means worlds of intelligent conscious minds have survived; beings no longer attached to one world and its fate; people that have access to many worlds in different stages of development. Is that not what life always does… survive?

I kind of find that people who fantasized about the end of the world haven’t really thought it through. Millions of babies would die, animals slaughtered, all books, art, science, religion gone into the night. Some say they will be saved from this tragedy. I ask myself, if I was saved would I ever be truly happy knowing the great tragedy that befell every other living creature?

  1. Hi
I think that there's a discernment between the end of the physical world and the end of our species, which is rather telling inasmuch as we consider ourselves to be the world where nothing can be further from the truth in more objective terms. I think as far as aliens are concerned, no amount of empathy for our situation will transfer into a change in our behavior unless we take the initiative ourselves, see for ourselves, act for the sake of interdependent needs in terms of species, our fellow man and peace.
To place this burden on aliens, as many have is essentially asking another party to solve our addiction problems for us. To put it simply our fate is in our own hands or to quote Pogo, we have met the enemy and they are us.
    Best Wishes

  2. It might be well for any bloke who believes the Maya calendar can really predict the end of this world in 2012 to contemplate the fact that the authors of that calendar also believed that to keep this world safe, they had to cut the hearts of humans from their living bodies. Persons who believe that people of such a distorted world view can predict when the world ends, will probably declare, when it doesn't happen, that their meditations and supplications altered the universe and averted doomsday. That's exactly what followers of the late 'psychic' Paul Solomon were lead to believe, after his readings declared that Comet Kohoutek, which reached its perihelion on December 26, 1973, would destroy two thirds of humankind due to, among other effects, earthquakes and tsunami waves it was predicted (by Paul Solomon) to cause. When nothing happened, his readings rewarded his followers with the announcement that their spiritual activities had saved two thirds of the world! It has likely been that way with failed prophets since before written history began, if recorded history can be taken any indicator of prehistory.

It is foolishness to believe that the Maya knew when the world would end just because they were astute observers of the sky and the inventers of zero. That is tantamount to expecting that the inventor of, e.g., the laser, might tell us when the world will end.

Current-day members of the Maya Wannabe tribe are now hysterically declaring an invasion of our world by Chinese candle-powered lanterns to actually be evidence of aliens preparing for the 2012 end of the world as we know it. The proliferation of cell phone photos and videos that show poorly-resolved birds, insects, conventional aircraft, etc., simply not noticed by the photographers, haven't helped the Wannabe's hysteria, either.

In the process, they are serving, unintentionally and ignorantly, to cast a bad light on more-objective members of the UFO-interested community who recognize, e.g., reports and videos of Chinese candle lanterns for what they really happen to be.

Yes, there are truly anomalous things operating in our atmosphere, too, and some are being photographed, but their presence in our skies are surely not in the concentrations we have seen in past UFO 'waves'. Yet, the ease of mass-communication on the internet may make it appear otherwise, to those who look for portents of imminent doom.

  3. Good article! This reminds me of all the times that the world has come to an end. It seems that every millenium we dedicate ourselves to doom. I have searched and researched to come to find that almost any time that there are a lot of zeroes in the year, we are doomed.

The coming of Christ is an even better one, since a person that no one has ever proven that existed is supposed to return. Do you know how the Jehovas Witnesses started? That is a pretty good lesson in prophesy and mathematics. It also shows how gullible people are.

I believe the reason 2012 is so "Doomy" is because of the association made by the calendrical stone. Mainly because of its theological ties. By that I mean that it was part of the religion of that culture. And we all know that theology is unfaltering and precise (tongue in cheek moment). The biggest thing being that these doomsayers are letting their lives be dictated by mythos. Maybe we will see the same things that occured at the previous end of the millenium, an increase in suicides because people do not want to face judgement day (Duh!). Good population control if you ask me, hurray for the human lemmings...

  4. there's a book titled On Being A Pagan, in which the author talks about the need for doomsday being an inherent part of the judeo-christian religious philosophy... there will be a doomsday they predict, because god is panting at the bit to destroy us and punish us for our pride and accomplishments. i'm only summarizing, the author makes total sense of the why the christian culture needs to have an end time, the destruction of the world and a wrathful god. i think many christians are just smug in their superiority, they can't wait for their neighbors to be destroyed while they themselves will be snugged to gods bosom. so much for love thy neighbor. i personally witnessed this in my brother-in-law, a wanna be survivalist (he's too lazy to actually make preparations) who couldn't wait for y2k to destroy all social functioning. (of course what he would do for medical help, food, or police protection is unknown.) these fundamentalist christians want the destruction of the world much like others want a good thunderstorm. they are confident they will be the special ones who will be spared. t'mara

  5. Lets have an explanation of the bright orbs. A transportation vehicle? Spirit personification? Energy blurbs? Energy essence incorporated with intelligence? Obviously they are here...but for what purpose and of what do they consist? How do we relate to or communicate with them?

Are they simply observing us while we observe them? What?

  7. Dear Bruce,
It use to be the devil made me do it now we are changing that to ET. I agree fully with you... humans have to take the blame for what is happening all over this planet. When you meet and speak to people you know why it is happening. Selfishness and Cowardliness lead the reason why we will not address these ugent issues.

  8. Dear Anonymous,
well we will all find out won't we. But I will tell you one thing if I'm alive on the Dec 22 2012 I am going to write a post about end timers and their need to have that "See I told you so" feeling no matte what, even at the expense of end of the world.

  9. Dear Anonymous,
What does it say about the ETs if they pick a brutal society to give there secrets to? I guess people need to feel fear so they can justify certain selfish behavior. I know it is nice to feel you are right and everyone it wrong but at the end of the world.
I am going to repeat myself here a old quote:
"Here lies the body of old John Hill. Now John was as right as the day was long but he is just as dead as if he was wrong.

  10. You identify, people unceasingly make comments when anything is predicted to take place in 2012, like “fairly that is if the age is hush here.” You do effectuate that the Mayans suggest the creation will finish on Dec. 21 (or 23rd)? So in all good chance if anything is affluent to turn up in 2012 there is only the slimmest feasibility that the everybody hand down take ended before it happens.

  11. Survival group against God?? LOL. Good luck with that. Truth is, no one knows the exact time this will happen except the man upstairs, however, I firmly believe that there are people placed here by God that post the warning signs and it's up to you to take heed.
